FIL-Center began with a vision to create a more just and inclusive society where every individual is treated with dignity and equality, regardless of gender identity or expression. Over the years, we have grown into a passionate team of grassroots activists committed to driving positive change for trans and Feminist communities in Uganda.

Our Background

The Feminist Inclusion Leadership Center (FIL_Center) operates as a pioneering force since its establishment in 2019 by that time was Called (Trans Feminist Association Uganda) but due to the Hostile and human rights violation country was refused to be registered as (TFA_ug) and was therefore changed to FIL _center and registered in 2023. With a unique multi-issue and multi-strategy approach, the organization is distinctive for being Black trans-led, comprised of passionate grassroots activists. Its primary focus revolves around advocating for Transgenders and advancing Feminist causes.

FIL_Center mission is a commitment to intersectional grassroots activism. This means actively engaging with various issues and strategies to promote Feminist ideals, foster societal transformation, eradicate discrimination, and secure equal rights for Transgenders and individuals within key populations across all dimensions of social, political, and economic life.
